This year we took in 3 days at the county fair in Wheaton. It was a hot and windy weekend, but we had so much fun!!
New to the fair this year was the pig races. You bet $1 on color of the pigs to win and get a ticket in return. If your color pig wins, a ticket is drawn from that color bucket and you get half the pot. Some of the races were over $150 to win!
Kyle and Jenny had a booth at the fair this year.
Bodin was not too happy this ride because his steering wheel pulled off.
Not quite sure what Nevaeh was telling him, but it backfired because.....
she got them both screaming.
The next morning was the Wheaton All School Reunion. It started off with a 5k/10k race for the Alzheimer's foundation. My elementary principal passed away with Alzheimer's, and he was the cross country coach at our school. I thought I would give the 5k a try and surprised myself with enjoying it!
Later that afternoon we enjoyed a parade. I have never seen so much candy left in the streets! The kids all down the street just left it lay since their bags were so full.
It was sooo hot that Jaxtin quit gathering candy quite early.
The fireworks display is the best I have seen before. These clips are only a fraction of how great they are!! This first clip is the end of diesel bombs. They happen so quick and then we feel a burst of heat on our faces. SO cool!
On day 3 we tried the demo derby. If you look closely, you can see a mud mark on Bodin's cheek. The kids did not like getting hit by the mud either. I don't blame them!
After going on the rides 50+ times, Bodin would still make sure he was tall enough each time in line.
Yummy! These helped the kids stay cool!
The kids' (and my) favorite ride was the Tilt A Whirl. I lost count after about 15 times. They were even up to going on back to back rides!
The area fire departments had water fights going on. The mist of the water felt so nice!
Jaxtin didn't like it so much though!
